At 4.57 this morning Princess Marie of Denmark gave birth to a son at Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet). The Prince was 49 cm long and weighed 3032 gr. He is the first child of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie, who married in May last year, but Prince Joachim has two sons, Princes Nikolai and Felix, from his first marriage. The newborn prince is seventh in line to the Danish throne. The Danish royals normally keep the child's names secret until the christening.
