Denmark to vote on the EMU within two years

At a meeting with the European Commission's President José Manuel Barroso today Denmark's new Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said that he intends to hold a referendum about Denmark joining the European Monetary Union (EMU) before the next general election, which must be hold no later than November 2011. Denmark last voted no to the single currency in a referendum in September 2000. Politiken has articles in both Danish and English:
