My latest article(s): Crown Prince Frederik at 50 & Rosendal Palace

The May issue of Majesty (Vol. 39, No. 5) is now on sale, and while most of it is understandably dedicated to the upcoming wedding of Prince Harry of Britain and Meghan Markle, I write about Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, who will turn 50 in May, and how the once troubled young heir found himself.
In the same issue there is also a new instalment of my occasional series on palaces, this time about Rosendal, the small but exquisite Empire style palace which Carl XIV Johan built at Djurgården in Stockholm.

  1. This will be a grand party, one only turns 50 once, a half a century. Well I wish him 50 more years, good health and happiness. josebabe

  2. I'm looking forward to reading this. I have really been enjoying your articles in recent issues of Majesty, especially the historical profiles. You add a valuable non-British and non-"fan mag" perspective to the magazine.

    1. Thank you; I'm glad to hear that - that is indeed what I try to do.

  3. I question whether Fredrik has really found himself. He is not often seen to perform official duties. His wife seems to be the more engaged half of this royal couple. There's no substance to Fredrik, nothing that he is passionate about, except sports maybe. He's on an endless vacation that is never commented on by the press, seemingly without his wife.

    1. Hm, it seems you may not have read the article, which does address those issues you raise here.
