With the unregulated market’s collapse having left many countries in deep water The New York Times on Wednesday drew attention to how Norway has avoided being as strongly hit by the financial crisis as many other countries. “With a quirky contrariness as deeply etched in the national character as the fjords carved into its rugged landscape, Norway has thrived by going its own way”, journalist Landon Thomas Jr writes. “When others splurged, it saved.
