I
recently mentioned that the Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Palace in Hillerød this autumn and winter will hold an exhibition on the Danish absolute monarchy, commemorating the 350th anniversary of its introduction in 1660. I have now learnt that Rosenborg Palace in Copenhagen will also do an exhibition on absolutism to mark the occasion. Titled “Pomp og pragt – Kongemagt og enevælde” (“Pomp and Splendour – Royal Power and Absolute Monarchy”), it will be shown between 16 October and 27 February.
